Amethyst
Ashio, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan (rare)
An unusual sample behind a very eventful history due to heavy metal pollution from the Ashio Copper Mine
The Ashio mine has been in operation since at least the early 16th century. It was one of the most important copper mines in the world from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century. Heavy metal pollution caused a disaster in the streams and rice fields. Despite the construction of a settling pond at Sunokobashi in 1976, it proved too small to contain the sudden rainfall, causing the death of all vegetation on the surrounding mountains. Lawsuits were filed and the Ashio mine was abandoned in 1973. Mine closed.
Amethyst
Castanet, Tarn-et-Garonne, Occitanie, France
The Prospecting Area the Castanet.
Of the small geode modules (3, 5, 8 cm in diameter, or larger)
The geodes are made of yellow barytes in the smallest size.
Others the geodes are sometimes lined with rose milky quartz inside,
or sometimes smoky quartz crystals, also milky quartz. But it is uncommon to find small amethyst geodes. Thank you very much Evelyne

Fluorite on Amethyst with Hematite.
Clara Mine, Oberwolfach, Freiburg Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany
A rare combination of Amethyst and Fluorite.
Amethyst is rare in the clara mine and is therefore very valuable with fluorite .
The Clara (Terril) mine is best known to collectors for Micromounter samples.
Collecting is now only allowed in a fenced-in area of the dumps, in a new spot next to the processing plant.
Amethyst, scepter quartz, window quartz
Saurüssel, Zemmgrund, Zillertal, Schwaz, Tyrol, Austria
Windowed scepter amethyst of the highest quality. The clarity, strong shine and delicate color characterize this crystal. The strongly windowed amethyst shows deep negative forms, which give this collector's item a wonderful graphic appearance.
Aesthetic alpine amethyst scepter from the valley famous for scepter amethysts.
An amethyst “scepter” with a long prism and delicate purple color and some transparence. On a white quartz crystal tip perfectly finished. Really curious.! Uncommon
